Pop star Paulina Rubio and urban icon Don Omar will thrill audiences with the exclusive television debut of their new releases during the 2009 Billboard Latin Music Awards. The awards will air live on Telemundo Thursday, April 23 at 7 PM/6c from the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida.
Paulina Rubio will perform the TV premiere of "CAUSA Y EFECTO" at this year's show, revealing the first single from her upcoming album out in stores this June. Paulina, who launched her career at age seven, has sold more than 20 million albums, and was the recipient of two Billboard Latin Music Awards for Pop Album of the Year, Female, and Pop Airplay Track of the Year, Female for her previous album "ANANDA."
Don Omar, one of this year's finalists, promises to light up the stage of this prestigious event with the world TV debut of the single "Virtual Diva," from his upcoming album "IDON," one of the most awaited releases of 2009. The album, released in CD/Digital/mobile formats, will introduce fans to the concept of IDON, a futuristic world of evolution and cyber-technology. Don Omar is a singer, songwriter and producer who is widely regarded as one of the leading urban acts and has been on the top of the Billboard charts for several weeks in addition to being very successful in Europe, the United States and Central America, in radio and sales. His previous album surpassed more than 3,500,000 digital downloads to become one of the most sold albums in the USA in 2006.
